Dear IMSA Community,
This is my first Personal Reflection since March 12, 2020 when I wrote we were about to go on spring break. I did not know then that we would not return to campus for the Academic Year 2019-2020.
I have written you many times and created a number of video announcements in the interim. While part of me wants to share my “personal reflections” of all that we’ve been through, I am instead, dedicating this Reflection to our Class of 2020!
We are now only a few days away from our virtual commencement 2020. We plan to have a live showing of our virtual commencement. We invite you to celebrate the Class of 2020 with us in the virtual commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. The live stream celebration on YouTube will begin at 3:15 p.m., with the actual ceremony starting at 3:30 p.m.

The college admission process for the 2020 graduating class is officially over and we are delighted to share with you our students’ college destinations! We are very proud of the college decisions made by the members of the Class of 2020!
Here are some interesting statistics about our graduating seniors:
- 220 seniors will matriculate at 83 different institutions!
- 106 students will be attending a college/university in Illinois, 112 will be moving out of state, and 2 students will be attending a school abroad.
In past years, I typically provide information only on the number of colleges/university our seniors enroll in. This year, however, to honor the Class of 2020, I am including the name of each senior and college/university they plan to attend.

“Senior” Recognition
While the entire Class of 2020 will be listed in our commencement program, several “seniors” will not be listed because they took much longer than three years to “graduate” from IMSA. I would like to extend our congratulations and deepest appreciation to our “seniors” who are IMSA retirees. They have shared their talents, passions, stories, ideas and their lives with IMSA over many, many years. The Class of 2020 can be proud to call them their “classmates.”
