IN2, the Steve and Jamie Chen Center for Imagination and Inquiry, is looking for two promising early stage ventures to be part of IMSA’s bold new initiative. IMSA’s innovation center, IN2 is now seeking applicants for two exciting incubator spaces on the campus of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora, IL. IN2 features two promising early stage start-ups—one for educational technology (IN2 EdTech) and one IMSA community venture (IN2 Impact).
About the LaunchPads – The LaunchPad spaces are permanent workspaces at IN2. Each launch pad is able to be completely closed and secured when not in use and is equipped with a table, chairs (2), whiteboard walls and a wall monitor. One resident EdTech start-up business and one community venture are selected annually through separate application processes. The selected start-ups are allowed free access to IN2's physical and programmatic resources for one school year. The application period for both LaunchPad office spaces at IN2 is now open. The deadline for both LaunchPad applications is July 7, 2017 at Noon.
IN2 EdTech: The Robert M. ’89 and Ginger L. Chang STEM LaunchPad
This startup space aims to accelerate technology and product development by serving as an incubator and testbed for EdTech startups. One IN2 EdTech startup will be selected annually from a national network of incubators, accelerator programs, venture capital firms, universities and other channel partners. IN2 Impact: Community Venture – presented by Sam Yagan ’95 and Jessica Droste Yagan ‘95
The IN2 Impact LaunchPad is an incubator space for promising community projects or early stage non-profit ventures led by community members that are bringing to life IMSA’s mission to "advance the human condition." The ideal team should be currently looking for dedicated space and support from the IN2 network to grow into a sustainable organization or venture. The deadline to receive a complete application for either the IN2 EdTech or IN2 Impact LaunchPad is July 7, 2017 at Noon. Applications should be completed online. Additional materials too large to upload with the application may be dropped off in person to Britta McKenna, IMSA Chief Innovation Officer or mail a flash drive via USPS to IN2, 1500 Sullivan Rd., Aurora, IL 60506. Finalists for each LaunchPad are expected to interview onsite at IMSA. The two start-ups selected will be notified in July and are able to work from their space August 28, 2017 – May 2018.
