What is 4DX? The Four Disciplines of Execution (4DX) is a program that makes an assessment of various functions performed at IMSA and identifies ways to streamline and make effective the work output. Earlier this year, one of the functions identified as being of importance is the Procurement process. It was apparent that many employees struggled with the procurement process and its execution.
As part of the assessment process, a Focus Group of multiple staff members with various levels of knowledge in the purchasing process was convened during the month of February. The purpose of this focus group was to gather information from users sharing their successes, frustrations, misunderstandings, and general questions about the procurement process. The end goal was to take the shared information to help prioritize our efforts on how to develop a better process for procurement that will eventually be shared with the community at large.
After digesting the information provided, a work aid was developed that will serve as a quick reference tool for users involved in the purchasing process. The Focus Group was reconvened in May to provide additional feedback on the work aid that was developed. All Focus Group members had positive feedback on the streamlined reference tool that will be shared with the community at large later this summer. Thanks to all those involved who provided honest, critical feedback allowing us to develop an effective work tool.
