After seven rounds of chess played over two days where some individual games last more than 2 hours, IMSA emerged undefeated and claimed the state title.
Aurora, IL, February 13, 2017 – IMSA won its 5th state title at the IHSA State Team Chess Tournament held Feb 10-11 in Peoria. IMSA entered the tournament as the number one seeded team out of the 149 teams competing in the tournament, having only lost only one of 23 matches during the regular season. After seven rounds of chess played over two days where some individual games last more than 2 hours, IMSA emerged undefeated and claimed the state title.
