Today students learned more about the process of photosynthesis, and the many factors that can affect it. They then measured the rate of photosynthesis in hornwort, a small aquatic plant, and then designed a controlled experiment to test the effect of one variable that they thought would affect photosynthesis. They analyzed the data they collected and made conclusions based on their evidence.Students also performed water quality testing and looked at the effects of pollutants on daphnia (small aquatic crustaceans commonly called water fleas).
