IMSA has scheduled a series of admissions events this fall and winter for prospective students and parents to learn more about its academic, residential and admission programs.
Visit the IMSA Admissions website to see a listing of various admission program offerings for prospective students and their families.
Talented Illinois students enrolled in the equivalent of a ninth grade program are eligible for consideration to the three-year (grades 10-12) advanced college preparatory program. All students live on campus. Tuition and most room and board expenses are provided by state funds, however some fees are charged based on family income.
Applications for next fall enrollment to the IMSA Class of 2016 are now available here. An admissions application must be completed and submitted to IMSA electronically or postmarked no later than March 1, 2013. Students also can contact their high school guidance counselor or IMSA's Office of Admissions at (630) 907-5028 or 1-800-500-IMSA to request a paper application, if internet access is not available.
IMSA’s program enables its students to reach extraordinary levels of achievement. The Academy’s students are widely recognized by organizations such as the College Board Advancement Placement Program, The Wall Street Journal and Newsweek. IMSA’s innovative student inquiry and research (SIR) program has enabled students to conduct original investigations on compelling questions of interest, collaborate with other students and on-campus or off-campus professionals such as educators, researchers and scholars, and share their investigation results through public presentation and publication.
In addition, students in SIR earn numerous awards from national and global competitions including Intel Science Talent Search, the International Physics Olympiad and the High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling. The Academy also offers many fine and performing arts opportunities, 27 cocurricular activities and 18 interscholastic sports.
IMSA’s highly accomplished graduates forge new frontiers as nationally recognized scientists, entrepreneurs, policy makers and leaders in other fields. IMSA alumni have been featured for their next-generation technological applications (such as Paypal and YouTube) by Business Week, Forbes, Fortune, Good Morning America, The Wall Street Journal and the annual Webby online achievement awards.
