Poster Printing

Poster Printer Banner

Two poster printers, located in the Instructional Technology & Media Center (ITMC - B127), are available to support academic related projects..

Specifications:

  • The limiting dimension of each poster is 23 inches, which is the width of the poster printer paper. Typical poster sizes are 23"x48" or 23"x36". See below for further instructions.

About laminating:

  • In the interest of being "green," only posters that will be used more than once or for an extended period of time will be laminated.

Instructions and helpful hints:

To make a 23"x 48" poster using Photoshop

         Width: 48 inches
         Height: 23 inches
         Resolution: 150
Color mode: RGB     Bit:  8 bit

Use high resolution images (1000x1000 or higher resolution).

  • Use text size of 18 pt or larger. The larger the font, the easier it is to read.
  • Review your poster format and content carefully to ensure that no further revisions are needed before you go to the ITMC to have your poster printed. Doing so will save you time and trouble in accessing this special, very limited resource.
  • Save your file as a Photoshop file (.psd) so you can make changes it to it later, if need be.
  • Then also save it in .jpeg format for printing purposes.
  • Save both files to a thumb drive and bring them to ITMC (B127).
  • A note about fonts: If your file is in .jpeg format, the poster printers in the IMS will accept any fonts; however, specialty fonts saved as .psd files will automatically be changed if those fonts are not resident on the ITMC computers.
  • All posters must be approved by the ITMC staff and/or Student Life, before printing.
  • We recommend making an appointment for printing. The IMS is open between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
  • Allow 20-30 minutes to print your poster.
